Technical service

Service for sanding and calibrating machines

Fault diagnosis, planned maintenance, repairs and fine-tuning entrusted to technicians who know these machines in depth and work on them every day. We come directly to wherever your machine is installed.

Our approach

We start from the problem and find the cause

A sanding defect almost always tells a precise story. In the same way, an anomaly or a fault in the way the machine operates can point to a very specific origin. Knowing how to read these signs is the first step towards identifying the cause, and that is where our work begins.

We analyse the problem, inspect the machine and identify the possible causes before defining the intervention. The aim is to resolve the root cause of the problem, clearly separating what needs immediate action from what can be scheduled with the customer.

What it covers

Service interventions

Diagnosis and fault finding

Analysis of the finishing defect or the problem reported, inspection of the sanding units, electrical, mechanical and pneumatic diagnostics.

Planned maintenance

Preventive maintenance plans to preserve the machine's efficiency over time and ensure consistent, high-quality sanding results.

Mechanical repairs

Overhaul of sanding units, replacement of bearings, rollers and pads. Roller and conveyor belt grinding, inspection of the sanding units and checks on the working surfaces.

Fine-tuning and finishing quality

Optimisation of sanding parameters to achieve the required finish on raw, veneered, lacquered and painted surfaces.

Electrical system and controls

Inspection of control panels, inverters, sensors and safety devices; work on control electronics and adjustment systems.

Teleservice

A remote connection is particularly useful for analysing and resolving software issues without waiting for a site visit.

Installation and relocation

Relocation, repositioning and recommissioning of machines moved between departments or plants, including final testing.

How we work

From the call to restart

You describe the problem

Model, serial number and a description of the defect. A photo helps. We can often form a first hypothesis over the phone.

Assessment and proposal

We establish whether the issue can be solved with remote support or requires an on-site intervention, and tell you which spare parts are worth having ready.

Intervention

We schedule the intervention around your operational needs as well, and bring the components most likely to be required.

Testing and handover

We verify the result on the workpiece, not only on the machine, and leave operating guidance so the result lasts.

A Tagliabue sanding machine built decades ago, still in production in a woodworking plant

Machines of every age

Built to last

We still regularly work for customers who use Tagliabue sanding machines built 40 years ago every day.

The solidity of the bed and load-bearing structure allows these machines to retain mechanical characteristics over time that still make them a valuable production asset today.

Over the years, it is mainly the wear components, the electrical system and the control electronics that need attention. This is where we step in, with targeted maintenance, repairs and replacements.

For many of these machines we still hold spare parts in stock and, when a component is no longer available, we can replace it with a more recent alternative.

What we work on

Sanding units, pneumatics and control electronics, from diagnosis and adjustment through to the repair or replacement of components.

Where we operate

Service without borders

Most service requests reach us from Europe and that is the area we cover most frequently. It is not a boundary, though: when the machine requires it, we organise trips overseas.

For many problems a site visit is not strictly necessary: a phone conversation with your maintenance technician, supported by photographs and a few measurements, resolves more situations than you might expect.

Finally, in more distant countries we can also rely on the cooperation of local technicians.

Frequently asked questions

Service: frequently asked questions

Which machines do you service?

We work on sanding machines, top and bottom calibrating machines, brushing machines and machines for sanding panels, edges and profiles. Our service covers diagnosis, maintenance, adjustment, repair and fine-tuning of the machine and its main processing units.

Do you support very old machines?

Yes. Many Tagliabue sanding machines built decades ago are still in production, precisely because their mechanical base is robust. We know these machines well too, and we often have spare parts for them in stock.

Do you offer planned maintenance plans?

Yes. We offer preventive maintenance plans that can include roller and conveyor belt grinding, inspection of the sanding units and checks on the working surfaces. Planned, targeted interventions help preserve the machine's efficiency and the sanding quality over time.

Do you offer remote support?

Yes, wherever the situation allows. Many adjustments and a good number of diagnoses can be handled by guiding your maintenance technician by phone or video call, supported by photographs and measurements. When it works, it is the fastest and most economical way to solve a problem. Teleservice is also available on more recent machines.

Do you need work on your sanding machine?

Send us the model, the serial number and the defect you are seeing: we will reply with an initial technical assessment.

    Need support? Let's talk.

Tell us what is happening: model, serial number and the problem you are seeing. In most cases we can point you in the right direction on the first call.
